Gillian Carolan

Gillian was born in London. During her school years her pen and wash drawings were frequently displayed at the Royal Academy Children’s exhibitions in the Guildhall.
Here early twenties were spent studding art and design at Kingston-upon-Thames, Over the past decade she has been experimenting with different media.
She has been elected membership with the ‘Society of Feline Artists'. At their annual London exhibition at the Llwellwyn Alexander Gallery she has won awards for “Best picture in Show” and several of her pictures have been bought by the director of the cats Protection league for display in their headquarters.
She is an enthusiastic gardener and this, coupled with a keen love of animals, influences much of her painting.
Gillian says “I cannot imagine living on a house without cats. They add a touch of the exotic beauty to every day life. If you live up to their expectations they beshow affection generously – a gentle chirrup, a rumbling  purr or maybe just a slow, lazy blink of the eye”
